I had previously ordered a Damascus camping hatchet from this seller, and was pleased enough with that piece that I decided to order this Kukri-ish blade. I’m equally pleased with it — nice low-layer twist Damascus, pleasing shape, and excellent heft. it’s not perfect by any means, but for the price it’s a really solid value.

Actually, I’m cautiously optimistic…. So far, I’m pleased with the overall quality in this hatchet. Although I haven’t used it yet, it strikes me as a solid build! The steel is clean, symmetrical, and appealing to me! The wooden handle is also pleasing to see. The wood / metal “mating” is solid. Nothing loose! The shape of the steel shows clean, crisp lines and the edge has a uniform bevel! I like it! The supplied sheath leaves a bit to be desired. It’s made of a rather thin leather, and the flap has the snap in the wrong position. When the hatchet is in the sheath, the flap is too long, lending to a sloppy fit! I will likely replace the sheath with one which is heavier and better made! I’ll hold my recommendations till l get into the woods to check it out!

Item came late, seller kept on ignoring my concerns, same size/quality axe was being sold for half the price which i noticed after I had already bought this one in hopes that somehow it will be worth twice as much… unfortunately both $30ish Damascus Axe and this $60+ look exactly the same… probably made by the same sword smith in some poor country… what a shame

Bought as a gift for my husband’s birthday. He loves it! Unfortunately, it was damaged during shipping- the box was smushed and the edge was rolled, even with the very careful packaging. (Not sellers fault!) It’s a beautiful piece and performs well. The head did loosen a little during the first use and there’s a little rust on the top. Overall, this is a beautiful piece and is still VERY sharp after using. My husband is a carpenter and LOVES the California style handle. Definitely recommend this camping hatchet!

Decent set of axes. The sheathes are both for left handed carry and aren’t that great, but I don’t intend to use them anyways. These are just for wall art. They came with an oil coating to preserve the steel but a little bit got on the wooden handles. Did a bit of clean up and they look good.

This is the second item I’ve bought from this shop the other being the Damascus Viking sword. Both being gifts for my younger brother. The sword was for Christmas and the axe for his 30th birthday.
